Define time capsule? This charming home in Hawthorne Hills has over 70 years of accumulation in the same home. The family lived here since it was built in 1940. Described as a "time capsule" this full home has everything one would expect to find, including all that was saved dating back more than two generations. Items were well organized and kept neatly packed away in drawers, cupboards, and closets, creating a unique and exciting opportunity for an Estate Sale. Everything Must Go! An ideal setting, the house sits adjacent to the Laurelhurst, Windermere, Wedgwood, & Viewridge neighborhoods. From Interstate 5(I5) just take the NE 65th Street exit (170) and head due east for approximately 2 miles...note: address will be posted Thurs. evening, the night before the sale. There is something for everyone, especially collectors, and those nostalgic about the past. Along with this listing, signs will be out this Friday(Oct.7th) morning "Rain or Shine" (we'll be inside) as well as Saturday & Sunday (8th & 9th). The doors will open at 8am sharp on Friday and Saturday and close at 4pm, possibly a bit later. Numbers will be handed out begining at 7:30am both Friday and Saturday. On Sunday the sale will begin at 9am and end at 4pm, with all pricing lowered by at least 50% (remember, it ALL must go)!

There is a vast selection for many interests, including: Art, Furniture, Rugs, Lamps, Pottery and Ceramics, Great Kitchen Collectibles, Books & Ephemera, old quilts and linens, a large assortment of vintage ties, vintage Christmas, fishing tackle, some jewelry, "gardening: tools, products and accesories", tons of tools, knickknacks, and heaps of additional quality household goods, gifts and all other necessities. Some featured items include: a dining room set, which includes a large Duncan-Phyfe style table with two additional leaves and protective pads, six chairs (one arm chair, five armless), a split-level display/china hutch with upper glass doors with interior shelving and lower cupboards with storage, and a full size buffet. All dining furniture comes in a cherry red mahogany finish; A bedroom set with hand-painted decoration including a full-sized bed with head and foot boards, a matching dresser, vanity and vanity chair; an Atmos clock by Le Coultre; a large watercolour of a beautiful Spanish woman done in the Romantic-style with original period frame all circa 1920; an Asahel Curtis silver-gelatin print in original "bat wing/pie crust" frame.

A few additional items of note:

14k Engagement ring with approx. 3/4 carat diamond,$550, beautiful stove by general electric c. 1940s Model D11-G1, excellent condition, $495 OBO, Maytag refridgerator purchased in 2001, good condition $295 OBO, the "Cadillac" of organs, the Yamaha Electone FS-500, bought new for $9K w/orig. bench $1,800 OBO, a Singer "Featherweight" $125,a small chrome table with hard black surface from the 1930s by Howell Co. of Geneva, IL $125, bed spreads (Chenille, etc) and four (4) hand-quilted decorative quilts from the early 20th Century ($85 -$225each), a quarter-sawn oak chest of drawers circa 1915 $225, elegant Fostoria stemware (Clarets/Goblets,Gibsons/Martinis, Aperitifs/Cordials) $5-$10ea. per stem, a set of three jadeite fireking nesting bowls $125, a Hamilton Beach Model C Food Mixer c.1940 in good working condition $95, and oh, did I mention, tons of tools?
