B & D Estate Sales did a tremendous job for my family. We had an overwhelming task of cleaning out our father’s home and B & D made the task much easier. Byron and his staff were professionals throughout the entire process. Not only did the sale exceed our expectations, they went the extra mile and removed all unsold material from the home. I have never been so overwhelmed in all my life. We could only fit about half of our things into our new home and that’s where Byron stepped in. He was an absolute life savor. He said “take only what you want and leave everything else to me” and that’s exactly what we did. He organized everything we left, advertised, sold, cleaned the house and sent us a check. Byron of B&D Sales was just what we were looking for! We sold our big 3 story house fast and we were retiring to Florida. We had already furnished our apartment in Florida so we didn't need anything in our house here in Troy. It was very overwhelming for us but once we met Byron we knew we found the answer to our problem. Byron was very professional, he came in and told us what he could do for us and the time line involved.Within 4 weeks of selling our house we were on our way to Florida. Byron needed 18 days beginning to end to come in and price and arrange everything, set up a two day sale & clean up afterwards. He and his associates did it all and our house closed on schedule. My wife and I just hired B&D to run a sale at my father-in-laws Estate in Dayton Ohio. We were originally going to have a sale through an auctioneer company, but after we met with them, they would not answer our phone calls when we had questions about the upcoming auction. I liked what I read about B&D on the testimonial site I am currently on, so I set a meeting up with Byron. Byron is a nice down to earth type of guy, I felt like I had known him before. I hired him right after the interview, because I felt like I could trust him. On the days that followed , Byron would always get back to me on my questions in a reasonable amount of time. If he is busy working , his secretary would answer your calls, and she would pass on your message to Byron. She is very professional as is Byron. Byron does a great job getting your estate ready for the sale inside and out. He knows how to place items through out the house so that they will sell. I let Byron bring in items to sell at our estate sale which really helped enhance the sale of our items. His items helped bring in a good mix of men and women. I really think it made our sale the success that it was. After the two day sale was over, Byron contacted me the evening of the day the sale was over to share with us the dollars that our sale produced. He does a great job the Monday after sale is over, clearing out anything that did not sale to a charity. . The most impressive thing is the condition Byron will leave your house in, as the whole house is vacuumed perfectly and it is ready for a cleaning company to come in by end of day Tuesday. He actually saved us some money in cleaning cost because of how he left things. I would highly recommend B&D to anyone looking for help to sell their parents estate. My father passed away this spring, he lived in Dayton and I live in south Florida. I needed someone who I could trust to handle the estate sale. I was pleasantly surprised when Byron of B&D Estate Sales agreed to meet with me at my convenience while I was in town. I was then surprised at how young Byron and Demi were! After our 30 minute meeting I was confident they would do a good job and could come and go to the house and be trusted. I was not wrong. Our sale was completed on time and was handled perfectly. Like the Chuck Hamlin family, we had no prior experience with an estate sale and had never even been to one. My wife and I are long time antique lovers and collectors and were downsizing to a 1-story home. The thought of deciding what to keep versus sell was a daunting one and the process was even harder. But that was where the torture ended. We were advised by many friends that collectibles and antiques sold better via estate sales than auctions plus estate sales have the added bonus of doing all the organizing, cataloging, pricing and selling for you, as well as the cleanup afterwards. They were right on all counts!!! Auctions usually leave the sellers with a lot of cleanup and removal work, not to mention wear and tear of property. The 2-day sale was promoted through many forms of advertising and conducted in a professional manner. The finished report of the items sold and their prices was both timely and detailed. The unsold items were swiftly packed up and removed for donation to a local charity who worked with Byron and Demi to provide us a comprehensive and detailed list of donated items and the proper tax forms for claiming income tax deductions. Byron swept and vacuumed all 3 floors of our house as well as our 2+ car garage to ensure it was ready to be turned over to the new owners. Our house was a civil war-era structure with wood floors, old plaster walls, and steep stairs. One of the best services Demi, Byron, and Rob provided was protection of all these as they moved and organized our sale items all through the house and the way they continued this protection during the sale with troops of people moving through the rooms and carrying things up and down stairs and out the door. Their surveillance was thorough and the care they exhibited was as if they were protecting their own house and belongings. The proceeds from our sale were higher than estimated and more than covered our moving expenses. And the value placed on the donated goods was a nice extra bonus that we will enjoy at tax filing time. B&D estates worked very hard for us and we highly recommend them to you.
