We had a tremendously positive experience with Novotny's when they handled our estate sale in San Marino at the end of February, 2015. Shauna Novotny and Susan Kotora are considerate, thoughtful, knowledgeable, honest, and efficient. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. Their team of six prepared and displayed the items throughout the house, the patio, and the garage in an incredibly organized manner. They were very savvy about pricing everything, from silverware, to paintings by obscure artists, to asian vases. They attracted more than 1000 customers each day to the two-day sale, and they handled all the exchanges with courtesy, alertness, and when needed, firmness. They sold the vast majority of the items large and small, and we were pleased with the net proceeds. Moreover, I enjoyed the time I spent with Shauna and Susan, and I learned a lot from them. I give them my highest recommendation.

After more than thirty years of collecting and storing antiques we decided that we needed to sell our "treasures". Just the thought of sorting, cleaning and displaying the pieces as well as finding a way to market them was overwhelming. We spoke to numerous people who referred us to Shauna Novotny to take care of our estate sale . We are glad that we made the decision to turn this sale over to Shauna.
We quickly learned first hand that Shauna is an energetic, positive, hard working and enthusiastic individual who gets excited to take on huge task of organizing and running an estate sale. She is knowledgeable about antiques and she is excellent in dealing with the public. No task seems too great for Shauna and she "jumps right in" to take charge. Novotny Antiques conducted an estate sale for us in the Spring 2010 at our Glendale home. We interviewed four prospective estate sale professionals and we decided upon Novotnys because of the knowledge and experience Shauna and her team had on the variety of antiques and quality items we were selling including silver, china, fiestaware, artwork, and antique furniture. We were very pleased and impressed with the considerable time and preparation Shauna put into our sale, which she staged and ran perfectly and she exceeded our high expectations. In addition, Shauna has continued to display and sell our quality unsold items in her shop. Equally important to us was that Shauna also sold or disposed all of our regular “yard sale” stuff, which was considerable and left us with a clean and empty house.
Shauna and her staff are interesting, energetic, and enjoyable folks to work with and they helped relieve the stress and anxiety of all of the emotions and questions that come along with the sale of many years of collecting and memories. We have only good things to say about Novotny Antiques and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in having a professional, well organized, well prepared, successful estate sale.—

Our office had less than a month to vacate an eight thousand square foot home that we had been working out of for the past sixteen years. With so little time, we looked around and thought to ourselves, how on earth are we going to do this? Had it not been for Shauna Novotny and her team, there is no way we would have been able to tackle such a massive undertaking. Shauna and her team moved in quickly, helped us properly tag what office furniture was of value, recommended an amazing professional moving company to us, and most importantly, helped us dispose and liquidate the office furniture and equipment that they were unable to sell.
Shauna and her staff are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to selling antiquities and they really do relieve the stress that comes with tackling an estate sale. We cannot recommend them highly enough. They are one of the best at what they do.

Shauna, Thank you so much for handling the estate sale at Chevy Chase Drive. From our very first meeting with you, we realized that we were in the hands of absolute professionals. The preparation and staging of the items for sale vastly improved the Real Estate value of our property while the sale was in progress. Everything agreed to by your team was delivered, and then some!
On another note: Moving and the sale of personal items can sometimes be traumatic. In this case, you just cannot even imagine the total relief and comfort you provided us during a trying time.

When Shauna and Susan came to assess the estate of my late Great Uncle, I was very impressed with their depth of knowledge. They really know their stuff – or I should say, my Great Uncle and Aunt’s stuff from the 1950s. They gave us a realistic view of what they could do and, I’m happy to say, they delivered. They handled everything with no hassles or headaches. It was great relief to be able to turn over everything to Shauna and Susan since we live 100 miles away.
