We have been in the Antiques business for 15 years. Chris Bowles is a Licensed and Bonded Auctioneer (VAAL# 2907004394) with a professional background in Information Technology and Business Systems. We created Ashby Auction Company to address certain deficiencies we saw in the way many Auctioneers serve their sellers and buyers. Auctions can sometimes be an "old boys club" and the environment can sometimes be intimidating or unapproachable to the general public. Our hope is to make the Auction method of sales more comfortable for our buyers and sellers.
Online Auctions with a full-service touch
Ashby Auction Company is a fully licensed auction house. Our auction house is located in 9221 Elk Run Rd Catlett, VA 20119. All of our auction previews take place in this location. Many auction purchasers make it a rule not to bid on items unless they can physically inspect them. At Ashby Auctions our previews are all open for multiple days and always span a weekend. This makes it much easier for people to inspect the items in our auctions. Ashby Auction Company offers flexible pickup times. Like our previews, our pickups are multi-day and always span a weekend. Additionally, WE SHIP ITEMS. We charge a $5.00 handling fee for each shipment plus actual insured shipping cost to the buyer. This expands the universe of buyers willing to participate in our auctions. After all, what is the use of having a worldwide platform if you are only going to sell to people within 25 miles?
