Listing Information

This home is super easy to get to off the Turnpike, located between Broadway and Avenue C in Bayonne. Parking is not too bad on the street, but there is a parking lot behind this 19th century home, where we can reasonably fit eight cars if everyone is polite. Look for the life-sized St. Mary on the front lawn!

Lining this parking lot is a row of 10 garages. Garage number 6 contains a Honda lawn mower, a vintage aluminum patio set, a miniature metal patio set, two sets of golf clubs and a golf bag caddy, lawn chairs, and an assortment of hand and power tools.

Enter the house through the back door, which puts you in the kitchen. Here we have an assortment of kitchen machines and everyday kitchen smalls, a set of vintage etched glasses, a set of Waterford "Lismore" water glasses for six, and a set of Waterford "Curraghmore" champagne glasses for six.

Dining room: Table and six chairs and matching breakfront, all in the apple green color that was so popular in the early '40s. Soon to be moved off the table onto a display table are a variety of vases, Royal Doulton plates, Mikasa stoneware, a very colorful modern tea set and more. The breakfront is packed with china by Lenox and Noritake. Beautiful Czech green decanter and matching glasses, Lladro collector plates, and other beautiful items. Wedgwood "Muses" vase, Kaiser bisque eagle and many more beautiful sculptures. Gracing the dining room wall is an original limited edition Erte serigraph.

Living room: Curio cabinet full of small sculptures. Small tables. Panasonic stereo system with Bose speakers. Pair of antique armchairs, pair of antique side chairs, beautiful painted basin and ewer, glass-topped coffee table, small blue sofa, a sideboard that appears to match the dining room set, and the most amazing slant-topped desk we have ever seen, with leaded glass doors above and below.

Basement: For safety reasons, the basement may only be entered with a Pink Dog escort by serious buyers. Washing machine and dryer, Nordic Track cross-country ski machine, and several tall metal racks.

Bedrooms: Assorted dressers, desks, nightstands, mirrors and a full bed. Mid-century modern leather chair with ottoman. Art deco chandelier. Singer sewing machine base table. Flat-screen TV and stand. DVD collection.

The family has assured us that a large portion of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Hudson County Animal League, for which one of the daughters is a volunteer. Pink Dog Estate Sales will also donate a portion of our share to this honorable organization.
