Listing Information

Hunt Estate Sales PA welcomes you to Elkins Park, PA (just north and east f of the boundaries of Philadelphia) for a treasure-filled Estate Sale Saturday, April 8th and Sunday, April 9th. Our client has owned this stately property since the mid-70’s and has since accumulated quite the collection of rare, antique and vintage books (both the man and lady of the house are published authors, her on the subject of children’s picture books, children’s education, Louisa May Alcott, etc. and him predominantly mystery novels and historical fiction). Their book collection is vast - in the thousands - and includes many rare volumes, some dating to the early - mid-1800s. You can also expect dish- and glassware (HUGE collection of vintage novelty and studio pottery mugs), housewares, bric-a-brac, antique and vintage smalls, decorative objects, vintage cameras, 4-5 antique and vintage typewriters, vintage toys and games (two very nice ca. 1920s dolls: one Kammer and Reinhardt doll with bisque head (mold #126) & composition body and original wig, one Schoenhut ball jointed doll missing original wig, plus some early doll clothes!), three stuffed racks of vintage (mostly) women’s clothing (mostly 30s-70s, including an early 20th C. beaver fur stove pipe top hat, a late-30s-early-40s era zip front cotton playsuit with matching bolero!) and costume jewelry (small amount of sterling), a nice group of Mid-Century era repro Pre-Columbian ceramic figures and other travel souvenirs, wall art and sculpture (some original folk art, paintings, prints), a couple WWI era trench art brass artillery shell vases (one ornate, one plain), a couple hundred records (mostly LPs and 78s), an early tabletop loom, antique glass bottle collection, a beautiful early 1900s plaster fashion bust (French?) and lots more!!! There is also a fair amount of furniture, including an amazing antique barber chair with cast iron base and leather seat, a couple petite secretary desks (both with original key), a smart vintage barrister book shelf, a vintage Heywood Wakefield Eclipse school desk and chair, a Mid-Century bedroom set, several vintage filing cabinets and industrial metal storage cabinets, a vintage sewing table with ornate cast iron base, a pair of antique electrified carriage lanterns with beveled glass (wall sconces), some really pretty ornate antique mirrors and lots more!!! Plus a lightly used Go-Go Elite Traveller mobility scooter! Stay tuned for lots more photos, which should do an even better job of illustrating how much great stuff is packed into this house! The treasures just keep coming!
