More details on Wednesday Evening
"South Fifth Street in Kenedy, Texas has been the home to my family for 100 years. My grandparents, Adolph Kauffmann and Nannette Rudisill Kauffmann moved into the house in 1917 after the birth of their first son. My mom was born in the house in 1924. Soon after my mother and father, James Avant married, my grandfather Adolph died. Adolph and Nannette, my grandmother, owned a Chevrolet dealership in Kenedy. The corporate organization of GMC would not let my grandmother, Nannette; run the business because she was a woman. My mother and father moved to Kenedy from San Antonio so my father could run the business. My brother Jim and I were raised in this wonderful home and my mom has lived here for most of her life. My mom treasures each piece of furniture and item in the house. This home has made her very happy as she entertained friends and family with much ease through the many years she lived here. My mother, father and grandmother had a beautiful wedding reception at South Fifth Street when my husband and I married. I will always remember how hard my family worked to make this a perfect start to our lives. I also have many wonderful memories of numerous celebrations in this lovely home!
I hope you find some treasures in this grand old home that will help you start some wonderful memories!"
