Ms. Burke was a professor at the University of Alabama. She was known by many as the "Mother of Alabama Art Photography". She was instrumental in Photography being seen as a art in the South. Many of her students went on to become artist and teachers. She was also a collector of folk art, primitives and oddities. Some of her collection has been donated to the University and other institutions as well as former students and friends. But she had a massive collection so we will have a nice selection for this auction. We will continue to add pictures up to sale day. We will also have quality consignments in this auction.
