Buyers Premium and Sales Tax: The Buyer's Premium of 10% will be added to each successful bid. Virginia Sales Tax of 5.3% will be charged on all items unless the buyer provides a valid sales tax exemption form. Sales tax exemption must be claimed and form presented before checkout.

Payment: Cash, Credit Card, or Good Check are approved methods of payment. Payment must be made in full the day of the auction and items may not be removed from the auction site until paid for. Online bidders will be contacted after the auction to arrange payment.

Shipping: Shipping will be available for online buyers at the buyers expense through a local UPS Store. Mountain Valley Auction Group will deliver items to the UPS store within two business days after the auction provided the items have been paid in full. The fee for delivery to the UPS store will be $5 per lot. If a customer purchases more than one lot the charge will be $2 for each lot after the initial one. If the customer wishes to make other shipping arrangements all items must be removed from the auction site within 24 hours of the end of the auction and pickup times must be scheduled with auction management. All items not picked up within 24 hours or where shipping is not arranged, will be considered abandoned property and will become the property of the seller or the Auction Company.

Merchandise: All Items Are Sold AS IS, WHERE IS, WITHOUT GUARANTEE. We urge you to examine all items carefully and satisfy yourself as to the condition and bid accordingly. We will not be accepting returns or providing refunds.

Preview: All of the items will be available to preview at the auction site on February 9 from 9 AM to 7 PM. A test track will be set up so you can test locomotives. Please satisfy yourself as to the condition of each item before placing your bids.

Condition: We have not officially graded these trains. Most of the items that do not come in their original boxes will be a grade C-5 to C-6 with a few falling below that. Most of the items still in their original boxes will be a C-7 to C-8 with some being C-9 or C-10 and a few falling below C-7. We have included multiple high quality photographs in the online listing and we urge you to examine them closely to ascertain the condition of the item. We have done a simple running test on most of the locomotives but we cannot guarantee that the locomotives will function correctly or that all functions will work as designed. Condition details are offered as courtesy to bidders, and are opinions only, not statements of fact, and do not imply any warranty concerning condition, or any assumption of liability. Lot announcements, listings, photographs, and catalog information are for descriptive purposes only. All announcements made on the day of the auction by the auctioneer supersede any other previously announced or published materials.

This is an auction for a large two generation O Gauge Model Railroad Collection including Lionel, MTH, Williams, Weaver, K-Line, Crown Model Products, and much more.

 

This collection was assembled from the mid 1940's up until the mid 2000's by the late Dr. Francis L. Byers and his son, the late Charles C. (Conrad) Byers both of Harrisonburg VA.  It includes Prewar, Postwar, and Modern Era trains, buildings and layout accessories. This collection has over 120 Locomotives, approximately 600 train cars, and many buildings as well as track, transformers, parts, paper, and accessories.  Most of these items are in very good condition.  Many of them are in the original boxes.

Road names in this collection center mostly around eastern Railroads such as the Pennsylvania Railroad, New York Central, Norfolk & Western, Norfolk Southern, Southern, Baltimore & Ohio, Chesapeake & Ohio, and Virginian along with many different railroads from all over the country.

 

Online bidding begins immediately and converts to live/online bidding at the beginning of the live auction.  The auction begins at 9:00 AM on February 10, 2018 and is being held at the Weyers Cave Community Center at 682 Weyers Cave Rd, Weyers Cave VA 24486.

 

Shipping is available through the local UPS Store at the buyers expense.  Mountain Valley Auction Group will deliver your items to the UPS store for a fee of $5 per lot for the first lot and $2 per lot thereafter.  If you need shipping quotes please email us and we will put you in touch with the manager of the UPS Store.

 

We have not officially graded these items but we have included high quality photo's so you can assess the cosmetic condition.  Most of the inbox items will be C-7 to C-8 with a few falling below that and number in the C-9 to C10 categories.  Most of the items without boxes are going to be C-5 to C-6 with a few above and below that.
