Good Morning--Ole Susannah's Estate Sales is having a Super Sale this weekend! March 7 Friday 11:00- 3:00 March 8 Saturday 9:00 - 3:00 March 9 Sunday 1:00- 3:00 Half Price LOCATION: 370 J. T. Griggs Road, Calhoun. (Directions from Monroe: I-20 West to Cheniere Exit, veer right off of Exit--will come to red light which will be the intersection of Hwy 80. Turn left on Hwy 80 and go about 2 miles to Slocum Road and turn right.(there is a pentecostal church where you turn). Go about 1-2 miles and turn right on J.T. Griggs Road (road is right past a huge water tower). Go about a mile and house is on the right. Has a beautiful white fence and main house sits far back off of the road. This is the Estate Sale of Carolyn and Jim Walden. (Still living -just down-sizing) (Some of you will remember one of their sons--Mark Walden--who was our cute store manager for Brookshire's on 18th Street. He now has a super dooper "Mr. Important" job at Brookshire's in Tyler, Texas and is doing great!) The Waldens have been married for 56 years and are a delightful couple! They also have other children who have bought some wonderful items to sell. Walden Hill Farm is located on 12 of the most beautiful rolling hills you'll ever see! A true working "horse ranch", they were an internationally known company that sold "mini" horses all over the world. The last show horse to sell was in November of last year to a family in Australia. There are barns on the property as well as the main house (which has over 3500 square feet heated). The house is packed with all their years of collecting. Mr. Walden was also a banker and worked as an executive at the old First National Bank in West Monroe. (Remember Shady Wall? Our local Representative who also owned the Bank? He was so colorful!) There's a lot of exciting activities going on in West Monroe this weekend! Lamar is also having a sale at 107 Esplanade, West Monroe (near Glenwood Hospital) and there is going to be a great Auction above Farmerville. (Stateline Auctions.
