Listing Information
Ole Susannah's is having a sale this weekend! Dates: Friday, April 11th 9:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12th 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13th 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. Half price Sale Location: 1602 Auburn Ave. Monroe,LA. 71201 @ story Gray House on the Right. This is the estate of Betty & Lori Frey. Kim & I met with Mr. Frey right before Christmas last year to list his house for sale and talk about doing the estate sale. He was very colorful in describing all of his and his lovely wife, Betty's, life's possessions. At this point, I have to tell you that Mr. Frey and Miss Betty were very dear to me, as well as their two children, Lori and Lisa.( Lisa was the flower girl in my wedding to my FIRST removed husband! ) Mr. Frey taught me English at West Monroe High School. He laughed when I told him at our meeting that his words to me in English class still echoed in my ears to this day. "Susie," he would say with his arms folded, " if you don't close your mouth, you're going to write Ten Thhhooouuusssaaannnd Lines!" Of course, on occasion, he loved to go home with me at lunch and eat my Nanny's good home cooked meals--I wasn't too worried about those silly old lines. If you've read either of my two books, the love of reading, writing, and the ability to write, came from this great teacher. We're going to miss Mr. Frey and Miss Betty (she was a "card" herself), but I can tell you that he was delighted that you were going to be able to buy his treasures. He also instructed me to use good adjectives in the descriptions. I guess being a good teacher never ends... This house is packed and filled to the rafters. The Freys were married over sixty years and raised Lori and Lisa in this beautiful home ( for sale too). Lots and lots of wonderful items! FURNITURE: Twin Pineapple Beds (one had to go to the doctor), beautifully scrolled vintage wicker full bed with Sealy Posteurpedic Mattresses (like new), exquisite three mirrored Victorian dresser, curved camel back couch, love seat, club chair & ottoman, two section straight couch (could be used separately)----much more. GLASSWARE: Cut glass, lead crystal, Minton Bone China, Porcelain piano babies, Lefton, Lenox, Royal Albert, Arnart, Occupied Japan, Andrea, Capodimonte Porcelain Roses, music boxes, Swarovski Crystal---much more. HOLIDAY: Lots of high end holiday items--just in time for Easter-- a Bunnyland dream! KITCHEN: All kinds of kitchen gadgets, copper, Arthur Court, pewter, corning ware, pots, pans, pyrex---much more. GARDEN & OUTSIDE: Bicycles, patio furniture, pool loungers, concrete pots, barbeque pit, lots of garden accessories, a nice swing, iron wall hangers---much more. CLOTHES & SHOES: High end-- all in good to perfect condition-- some with tags! Ralph Lauren, Polo, Cole Hahn, Brooks Brothers, Banana Republic, J Crew, Talbots, Poms, ULM Gear (Ladies-S & Med Men- Tall & XL) MISCELLANEOUS: Cookbooks, Silver-plate Punch Bowl, silver-plated accessories, Black lacquer Russian, vintage Dolls (including Mme. Alexander), old toys, furniture from playhouse, decanters, demitasse cups, all kinds of serving dishes, milk glass, electronics, lamps, Christmas China, decorator items, big urns---much, much more! Special Note: On Thursday and Friday Victoria Nelson will be at sale to meet you. We have been asked on numerous occasions to travel to Vicksburg and the Natchez areas to conduct sales. Although we would love to, both areas are a little bit far from us. Victoria is one of my closest friends and has moved back from the Miami area where she was a very successful Chef. She's ready to do something a little less strenuous--and has agreed to do Ole Susannah's Estate Sales in the Mississippi. You will absolutely love her--she is so knowledgeable and easy to work with. If you have kinfolk or anyone that you know in Mississippi that is in need of an Estate Sale, please give them her number (601) 636-1444. I'm going to help her with the first few sales--and we'll be sending her notices through our email so that you'll know too. As always, thank you so much for coming to our sales. We do appreciate your business! Susie & Kim
