The first generation; Frank Forest (formerly Frank Hayek) was a famous European tenor who came to Hollywood in the 1920's and brought his beautiful antique furnishings with him. His wife, Roberta, was an artist and accomplished pianist. Her oil paintings include still life and several African portraits. She was also an accomplished sculptor, mostly focusing on busts and nudes.

The next generation; Kenneth MacGowen was a writer, author and Academy Award winning producer of numerous projects such as “Little Women” with Katherine Hepburn, “Young Mr. Lincoln with Henry Fonda, and Hitchcock’s “Lifeboat”.   He co-founded the Theater Arts Dept. at UCLA with Eugene O'Neil. MacGowan Hall stands on the UCLA campus as a tribute to his efforts.   His wife, Edna was an accredited artist whose oil and pencil sketches have been shown in galleries on both coasts.

Third generation; Prudence, was a world traveler, civically active and professor at Cal Poly and Fulbright Scholar.  An avid reader, she added her own collection to the already rich multigenerational library in this home.  Her interest in Native American, art and jewelry will be seen.
