This sale features the antebellum home, built by Issac Newberry between 1840 and 1846 in historic Oak Hill, Alabama. This home has Montgomery roots - having been the home of Montgomery surgeon, Dr. Bonner Englehardt's great, great, grandfather's home. Even though known today as 'Magnolia Hall', it is now known as CedarCrest -because of the magnificent cedar trees that surround the estate. This home was placed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage on April 21, 1891. Currently known as "Cedarcrest", the home, has been totally rennovated and updated in keeping with the orginal intent of the home. The home is full of beautiful antiques, keeping in mind the original integrity of the original home some 100 years ago. The present owners purchased this property some years ago - and not only determined to restore this beautiful home to it's original state, but furnished it with beautiful furnishings from local findings to European antiques. The house is currently for sale and we are honored to have been chosen to sell the furnishings which have been collected and sought after for many years. A sampling of what is being offered is being photographed and included. |
