Mark your calendars for a wonderful estate sale Easter weekend as we liquidate the estate of the late Dr. Louis A. Balart. This is a not-to-miss sale!

Louis A. Balart MD, lover of wine, women, song and the written word, was a prominent gastroenterologist in New Orleans starting his career at the Browne-McHardy Clinic after escaping Castro's communist regime in Cuba in 1961. He was a true renaissance man, who enjoyed the arts, particularly music, writing, languages, carpentry, travel, and many other pursuits. He was an avid collector of books and wine and was a keen stereophile assembling an impressive library of recordings.  Always perfectly attired, Dr. Balart was selected Man of Fashion in 1995. Throughout his 93 years he enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest!

Some highlights include: 

- 1986 Mercedes 500 SEL, black and black interior, 138,000 miles  
Our client has requested that we attempt to sell the Mercedes prior to the sale. More information will be posted on the car very soon. If you are interested, please call or e-mail me for details. 

- Beautiful hardwood Saloon cocktail bar 
- Ridgeway grandfather clock in working condition 
- Two barrister bookcases (not old) 
- Small oak roll-top desk ​
- Large fish aquarium and large bird cage ​
-Over 4,000 hardback books in a beautiful library 
- Some artwork, including two large paintings, many prints - lots of frames available 
- Lots of plaster statues, busts, and figures 
- Asian decorative arts   ​
- Various worldly objects from Dr. Balart's many travels 
- Silverplate and serving pieces
- Tons of stemware and other glassware - lots of cocktail glass sets of all types and sizes
