They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. That describes the sale in Red Oak. It's a guy sale with a touch of Fenton, a touch of Lenox, a touch of gold, a touch of silver! And a buffalo trophy, a full bear skin, a fabulous scrimshaw, a buffalo skull and jawbones, etc.
There are a large amount of arrowheads in different sizes, fossils and petrified pieces. Several pieces have been strung on leather as necklaces, bolos, and hat bands, and lots of extra supplies available to create your own pieces. There are lots of hats throughout the house, both decorated and plain, some new in box. Also some framed fossils, horns, ect.
There is a strong military interest with some vintage and a lot of reproduction items that are very unique. We have the upper part of an M1 rifle and two bayonet attachments, a naval tray, set of German Nazi era stamps, Nazi medals and badges, Prussian WW1 German Helmets (reproduction), and a metal German Red Cross marked transport box.
In the "military" bedroom, there is a Weyersberg Solingen bayonet, Japanese WW2 bayonets, WT US 1942 bayonets, UOS 1942 bayonets, MDE 1917 US bayonets, M1 wooden stocks, hard plastic HK gun cases, leather gun holsters, leather knife holsters, leather belts, ammunition cases and gun totes. Also a WW2 helmet, an unopened pro lok Gunlok, assorted stag Fox Hound knives, and a Gary Giuffre sketch of Ronald Reagan. Also swords, helmets, knives, military bags, and gun holsters.
There is a large amount of Texas Independence Sequicentennial books, coins, stamps, ect. and vintage Coca-Cola six pack bottles. The kitchen holds some assorted appliances such as roaster, crock pot, microwave, electric skillet, percolators, ect. There are some nice old pottery crocks, Ruckel stoneware, a brass spittoon, blue willow platter, Hall pottery, a few pieces of Waterford and other crystal. And a small amount of vintage Christmas.
On the larger side of things, we have a Ridgeway grandfather clock, a large lighted curio, a neat pair of vintage barstools, smaller Maytag refrigerator, Sears upright freezer, Estate washer and Roper dryer. There is a 50?in Sony flat screen TV with stand, American Drew end tables, a large dresser with mirror, lift-top vanity with stool, queen bed, more nightstands, pair of octagon side tables, another queen headboard, large bedroom dresser with marble insets and mirror, dresser chest, two wood framed mirrors, a glide rocker, miscellaneous chairs and settee (needs repair), large rolltop desk.
And to finish things off, vintage inkwells, vintage light coils, pair of aladdin lamps, a floor stand globe, stained glass look floor lamp, newer deco style lamp and deco style fountain with lamp, bavarian ashtray, decanters, Lenox swan, Fenton opalescent bowl, onyx owl bookends, a nice amber ring, and a 10k school ring.
