Shipper Link (if needed or choose your own packer shipper): www.gonavis.com Ridgeway Limited Edition 1978 tall case clock The tall case clock is a traditional design with special added features and detailing for this Limited Edition made in 1978. Case: The bonnet has a swan neck arched pediment with a brass eagle and ball finial in the center. The arch top is supported by 4 fully formed fluted wooden columns with brass capitals and bases. The case is made of chestnut and solid hard wood construction with select veneers and 6 glass lights. The front glass lights in both bonnet and waste of the clock are beveled, with the balance of the lights unbeveled. The waste door locks with a brass key. Wood inlayed detailing applied to the front of the bonnet in the arches on both side and a sea shell inlay in the center. The base of the case has more wood inlay and banding with carved wood detailing and supported on ogee feet. Dial and Movement: The dial chapter ring is silvered with engraved center and spandrels’, applied brass Roman numerals’ and additional brass accents. The subsidiary dials include a functioning moon dial, the numerical date, the day of the week and the month. The movement is weight driven with a brass pull chain winding feature. The weight covers are chrome plated to match the 5 tubular bells. The clock chimes on the ¼ hour and builds to the full Westminster chime on the hour, when the clock counts out the hour on the tubular bells. There is a silencing feature for the chime on the dial.
