The Story of Bradley Eiler

As told by Jacqueline Norris

Bradley Eiler, 47, was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma two years ago.  "Currently, I have tumors in my right kidney, which is my only kidney, left lung and pancreas. The doctors have noted the cancer may be in my left hip, vertebrate, back of the skull and lymph nodes," Eiler said, adding his type of cancer is extremely resistant to traditional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation.

Eiler and his wife's two oldest children are biological, aged 24 and 26, and their five youngest children, ages 4 to 11, were adopted from the Foster Care system. In preparation for his treatment, the couple have taken steps to down size so Eiler's wife and children can have a better chance to survive with only one income. It has taken them two years to get to a point where they can sell their home in Tallahassee because Eiler has been in and out of the hospital.

He hasn't been able to secure life insurance because he was diagnosed with cancer when he was 25.  At that time, the doctors were able to remove the cancer along with his left kidney where the cancer resided, but, like cancer often does, it surprised us when it came back after about 22 years.

Eiler’s family and friends have all pitched in to help take care of children, complete house projects so they can sell, and donated time and money in many other ways!  "During my treatment my wife will not be employed and will have to transport me back and forth to the treatment center," Eiler said. "She will have to stay there with me as much as possible, especially for those important decisions I may not be able to make for myself."  Eiler and his family are trying to arrange for treatments at Shand's Hospital in Gainesville, but for now are asking for prayers and any kind of support.

How The Timed Online Auction Works (Brief Summary):

1. Select the online catalog link from this page. From the online catalog, register via the Register To Bid link. Registration will require a valid credit card. The credit card is used for account verification only and is not used for any other purpose.

2. Once registered, you will be able to login and bid. The online catalog is mobile friendly for all devices. Please consider leaving a highest and best bid you are willing to make for the item. The online bidding platform will incrementally (in accordance with standard bid increments) execute bids on your behalf until the bid is either successful or exhausted. This means, if you leave an absentee bid of $10,000, and during the course of competitive bidding the winning bid increment is $5500, you win the lot at $5500. Bid increment for this sale is set to $1 for all lots and bid ranges.

3. If, in the course of the auction, you are outbid - you will receive an outbid notice by email. You can always log in to your account, and from your bidder dashboard, see which lots you are currently high bidder and those for which you have been outbid.

4. This is a timed auction (has a pre-determined end time), so if you are outbid in the last few minutes of the auction, bidding will automatically be extended by 2 minutes (on the given item) and you will recieve an outbid notice. This allows you to log in and place another bid. 

5. Following the auction, invoices are sent by email within 24 hours of the end of auction. Please check your spam or junk if you do not see your invoice in your inbox. The invoices are sent from accounting@manorauctions.com. All payment, local pickup, and shipping instructions are provided in the body of the invoice email. You can also review payment and pickup information within the auction terms of sale.

6. In-house shipping is available on all lots. Buyers are also welcome to do local pickup. Please see clause 1 of terms for pickup times and location.
