Company Information

Fairfield Auction is Connecticut's leading auctioneer of antiques and fine art. Principals Jack and Rosie DeStories have served individuals and estates since 1988, handling over sixty million dollars of antiques and fine art and serving over 12,000 consignors. In May 2008, they achieved an astonishing $2,185,000 for an 18th century Tlingit warrior's helmet. They also garnered national recognition for the sale of the Michael Martucci collection of Tiffany glass which grossed over $350,000, as well as the sale of celebrity estates including the Roxbury home of author William Styron and a large group of property from the estate of actor Jason Robards in Southport.

Jack has been a collector since childhood. Before graduating high school he was a nationally known collector of baseball cards and in 1989 was the youngest exhibitor, among 500, at the National Baseball Card Convention in San Francisco. In 1986, he graduated with honors from Santa Clara University.  He has been estimating, cataloging, and marketing antique auctions full-time since 1990. Jack has been certified as an expert witness in his field by the Bridgeport Superior Court and has donated his expertise to dozens of antique appraisal events across New England benefiting various schools, churches, museums, and historical societies.

Rosie is a second generation auctioneer. Her parents operated an antique store from her earliest days and created one of the first large retail antique collectives in 1970. Rosie graduated from The World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa at the age of 19 and in 1987 received a Bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University. Over the years since, she has managed over 400 auctions, selling everything from Stieff bears to multi-million dollar real estate. In her spare time, she has coordinated fundraising auctions that have generated over $5,000,000 for local causes.

We believe that a properly planned, promoted, and presented auction will result in the best possible results for our consignors.  Our location on route 25 in Monroe, Connecticut, midway between Interstates 84 and 95, has been carefully chosen to expose consignments to the most affluent buyers in Fairfield County while remaining easily accessable from Manhattan and greater New England. Our presence in the national trade publications and the world-wide web further expose consignments to literally millions of collectors, dealers, and institutions across the world.
