Our next sale is at 4785 Rex Court Sacramento 95822
Thursday February 28th and Saturday March 2nd from 9am-4pm About our client and who you will be buying from: My Mom lived in Madison then Esparto in the Capay Valley. As with every working ranch my Mom grew up cooking for 16 ranch hands. This small chore brought about her lifelong love of cooking and entertaining. My parents purchased their brand new home on Rex Court very excited with resent changes in their small family. I had just married my beautiful bride Lei Lani, not long after came their first grandchild, that one grandchild grew for my Mom to have 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The Rex Court home allowed my Mom to comfortably cook for just the two of them or up to 30 in one sitting. My Mom was a great cook, one whisper among the ranks that gumbo was on the stove she knew there would be 10 the table that night. There was no doubt that my Mom made the best green salad ever the family had to grow since my Dad wouldn’t eat anything green or without. There was lots of love in that Mom put through that kitchen although she cooked Italian and southern food, Italian for her roots southern for my dad Mississippi roots. Mom taught whoever wanted to learn the basics of gumbo or moms raviolis. Although tons of Italian and Soul food ran through that kitchen by far the most valued commodity was her canned pickles and peppers. She made her pickles with grape leafs to keep them crisp and spice enough to keep you coming back again and again. My Mom’s peppers were tangy, hot and crisp just when I thought I had lost respect from my new Hispanic in-laws, Mom saved the day and many years to come by providing me with many quarts of spicy peppers for the endless amounts for cousins and friends alike. Although Mom’s hasn’t worked in the kitchen for years, those recipes she made with such love she also taught to me, my Brother and grand-kids with such love and caring. Lovingly penned by son Ron |
