Les Maitres De L'Affiche (Masters of The Poster) prints are a series of 256 color lithographs published in Paris during The Belle Epoque period. This collection is one of the most prestigious and influential art publications in history. It was published by Chaix Imprimerie when famed artist Jules Cheret was the artistic director. The prints were sold in a package of four and delivered to subscribers during the period of December 1895 through November of 1900. On 16 occasions the monthly package also contained a bonus plate. Altogether, 97 artists were represented in Les Maitres De L'Affiche, including Cheret, Lautrec, Mucha, Steinlen, Roedel and other great artist of the Belle Epoque.. Today, original Maitres De L'Affiche prints are in high demand by collectors and are difficult to find in top condition. Offered in this auction are over 100 high quality pieces from this exciting set. These prints are graded by the image quality; some defects in the borders are accepted and generally seen.
