Hello Estate Sale Shoppers !!

We have a nice BIG doll sale for you. 

2 rooms of dolls, 4 display cabinets and 7 shelves of dolls and furniture

HUGE Steiff collection........she went to the doll conventions and got the "Limited Edition" Steiff animals.

 

 

I have a vintage 1948 DeSoto Custom 4 door Sedan up for sale.

This is a very nice stock 1948 De Soto Custom 4 door with the Fluid-drive transmission.
The interior is in nice condition and appears to be original. The drivers side door panel needs to be recovered but as the pictures show, the rest is very clean.
The dash is very nice and the gauges and radio all seem to work fine. The antenna is not original.
The paint is driver quality but has several areas that the former owner touched up. A good paint shop could fix them correctly and with a coat of wax on the rest of the car, the finish would be very nice. It appears to have been repainted black several years ago (25+) and the original color remains in the trunk and can be seen in the pictures as well.
There is a very small spot of rust near the edge of the trunk opening on the right side that has bubbled the paint but the rest of the car looks very solid.
The engine is very smooth and runs quite. It had over 60lbs oil pressure when started and maintained over 40lbs during the 30+ minute test run at idle.

A new standard 6 volt battery will be installed.

The car needs the following based on an inspection and test run:

** Adj. or service the brakes. The peddle is low but the car does stop.
** The wiring near the turn signal switch under the dash has been worked on and is not correct.

** The turn signals, brake lights and parking lights do not always work, only part of the time (loose wire?).
** The top of the radiator core has some small leaks. The car does not overheat and ran at about 170 degrees for over 30 minutes.
** The test run and moving the car showed no transmission issues but due to the low brake pedal it was taken on an extended test drive

For the new buyer, there are lots of De Soto parts that will go with the car including a rear end, a radiator, brake drums and shoes, tires and much more.

We do not want to sell theses parts as individual since the new owner should have them to go with this car.

This car should have a complete service before it is placed in service.

As will all cars this old, it is being sold as-is.
