The Dan Rostenkowski Sale, "Play it Again Sam"

A 2nd sale and final sale with newly added political items, decortive items, dresses worn to White House functions by Mrs. Rostenkowski, furniture from Dan Rostenkowski's United States Captial Building offices, painting, prints, and antique furniture.

 

Daniel David Rostenkowski was born Jan. 2, 1928, into one of Chicago's leading Polish-American political families. 

 

Rostenkowski was a United States Representative from Chicago, serving from 1959 to 1995. He became one of the most powerful legislators in Washington, especially in matters of taxation.

Rostenkowski was the most important congressman Chicago ever sent to Washington. There was never a truer political prince than Rostenkowski. 

 

“Biographer Richard Cohen wrote that Rostenkowski was "among the half dozen most influential members of Congress during the second half of the 20th century.”

Rostenkowski said, ”I think the epitaph I'd like to see, even on my gravestone, would be, 'He wrote good law,"' Rostenkowski said later. "That it was fair.”DiedAugust 11, 2010, Genoa City, WI
