We are selling the contents of this exquisite historic 34 room mansion featuring a fine collection of art by well known artists,  fine antiques, an exquisite French formal dining room suite, gorgeous Persian carpets, African art and artifacts, memorabilia, instruments, gym equipment, and a variety of other household items.
 
The art collection consists of the following:
Paintings by Clementine Hunter (often referred to as the equivalent Grandma Moses)
Rembrandt etchings
Miro, Dali and Lautrec signed lithographs and drawings
Calder, large fine mixed media
Tanner paintings (most distinguished African American artist of the 19th century)
Shearer  -- o/c paintings
Romare Bearden -- o/c several paintings
 
Photographs by famed photographer James Van der Zee, known for his work in the Harlem renaissance
 
Very special pen and watercolor portrait of Madam Walker that is worthy of being hung in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
 
Among the antiques are several French bombe chests with extraordinary marquetry, French garniture sets, Margaret Beaudette sculpture, antique lion's head throne chairs, German pendelum clock, carved pedestals, fruit wood four poster bedroom, many fine carpets, several pianos including a pianola, Amish fireplaces, antique serpentine chest with marble top, tufted down sofa, modern tufted leather lounge, Ivory coast masks and many African carvings, some unusual and vintage or antique, art glass, dry sinks and vintage antiques, folk art, carved book cases, also gym equipment-weight rack, abductor machine and True elliptical, household galore, and a treasure trove of discoveries!
 
The mansion, named Villa Lewaro was built in 1918 as Madam Walker's summer residence. She was the first American self made entrepreneur and millionairess....   and was famous for her community activism and philanthropy.
