Palmetto Estate Liquidators is pleased to bring you a treasure hunt estate sale in West Ashley.
This is the estate of a fun loving couple who built this home to accommodate many family gatherings utilizing the great piece of property for playing, swimming and BB&Qing! The father was a Navy diver during WWII and after serving in the navy, he contracted polio and built this really cool house with his disability in mind. His family operated a candy and bakery shop in downtown Charleston in the 1920's. He was an avid artist, photographer, beekeeper, card player, traveler, boater, fisherman and all around man's man! He worked at the Naval shipyard as a draftsman and welder. His wife was an excellent self taught artist (oil painting), seamstress (she made costumes for the Charleston Ballet Company because her daughter was a ballet dancer), needle worker, cook, entertainer and world traveler. She was very involved with her church in later years and did a lot of cooking/food delivery for shut-ins and crocheted and sewed for charitable causes. All in all it was a very loving and caring family. The THREE (3) DAY Sale will be held on-site at 2067 LAKE AVENUE CHARLESTON, SC 29414 on FRIDAY, JULY 6 SATURDAY, JULY 7 SUNDAY, JULY 8, 2018 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Following is a breakdown of what to expect at the sale: The first floor of the house will have many beautiful, fun, collectible and better things. The second floor is really HOT!!! but there are many "nooks and crannies" to find things like a Victrola, daybed, sewing machines, old frames, old photos, oddities. From the second floor you can go into the attic... now this is HADES! AND YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL AS THERE ARE MANY FLOOR CHANGES! but again many interesting things to pick through. The second floor and attic, you will be on your own and please DON'T STEAL... just make a pile and call one of us up to make an offer on and then pay downstairs. The garage off the house has odds and ends and again a great place to pick. The pool house has wicker, plastic, old timey chaise lounger and more. The back building will have assorted benches, tables for picnics, old tools, a Thomas Three Manual Organ and more things to pick through. All in all there is over 5000-6000 square feet to explore and bring your own picnic lunch and sit by the stream in the back yard!
