Lois Gross Smiley (1925-2019) was an abstract expressionist who specialized in landscape, still life and figural painting in oils and pastels. She was born and raised in New York City and her artistic training coincided with the emergence of the New York abstract expressionist and gestural abstraction painting movement. Smiley attended the prestigious Dalton School in New York’s upper east side, where she studied under two prominent artists: the well-known Mexican painter Rufino Tamayo and the abstract expressionist Vaclav Vytlacil. This is a great opportunity to acquire some fantastic original Lois Gross Smiley artwork. If a Sign-Up Sheet has been started please make sure you put your name on it and make sure you stay & are present to get your number. We open the doors at 9:00am (no earlier).
