Listing Information

We have the delightful privilege of handling the Living Estate for Patsy Eldridge, nationally known local artist.  Patsy has inspired many students in the Dallas area. She taught art at Lakewood Elementary School in the 1960’s, at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts for over 25 years.  She recently retired from North Lake Community College.  Patsy still lives in the Dallas area.

Before you even enter this Mid-century Modern home, you pass a sculpture adorning a water feature….so peaceful and serene.  When you enter the home, as you climb the stairs, you will notice the amazing one-of-a-kind, metal relief wall sculpture by Charles Pebworth.  It’s similar to the one he installed in the Hyatt Regency in Houston, only in a smaller scale.  Once you’re upstairs, you can’t help but notice art; It’s everywhere you look, in every room.

There are paintings, sculptures, pottery pieces; styles such as Art Deco, Abstracts and Impressionistic; Originals, Lithographs and Prints.

Art Deco works (“Mezzanine” and “Treasure of the Nile”) by Michael Young

Collection of Original Paintings by Ann Cushing Gantz

Mid-century Original Impressionistic Painting by Helen Cuthbertson, Regional Artist

Mid-century Original Abstract by Local Artist May White Dyer

Mosaic Torsos by Rockin’ AB Artists Studio “Sisters In Art”

Original painting by Mary Doyle

Large Bronze sculpture of Parrots accented with gold-plated flowers

Large “Kitty Cat” Sculpture by Sandi Stone

Not only is there wonderful art to be had, you will also find china:

Wedgwood Corinthian – Kirkstone

Thomas – Germany

Theodore Haviland – Limoges France – 7395/6

Narumi China – Japan

Lenox – Aurora L327

Lefton Hand-painted China 2124V

Lefton Hand-painted China 2768N

Villeroy & Boch 1748 – Germany

You will also find:

Fiestaware

Calphalon Cookware

Set of silver-plated flatware by Community – South Seas (with chest)

Large selection of Pink and Green Depression Glass pieces

Corning Ware in the Cornflower pattern

Selection of “ribbed” antique jars with aluminum lids

Flow Blue plates

Large selection of decorative boxes: porcelain to wooden

Vintage beaded ladies’ purses

There is even a FLYING PIG!

There are many wonderful decorative items throughout the house also.  There is a rain-stick (someone’s been using one of those a lot lately!) and something you really shouldn’t miss: a collection of vintage Mexican Folk-art hinged nut shells that open up to reveal a diorama!

School yearbooks from McKinney and Mineral Wells High Schools dated 1949—1953

Art books

Records

Asian calligraphy paint brushes

Ceramic carving tools

And the furniture, well, it speaks for itself:

Drexal Bedroom Suite “Campaign” style, including: Headboard, 2 nightstands, Chest, Dresser and Desk/Vanity

Overstuffed Steel Blue leather chair

Antique Oak Hand-carved king-size headboard

Several Mid-century cabinets in various sizes

Chrome, Black and Glass table

Italian Console by Giorgio Collections in High Gloss Cherry w/beautiful inlay banding

Antique rolling Mahogany Server with drop leaf sides

Hand-carved Rosewood Dining table, 8 chairs with Silk cushions

Mid-century Italian white veined marble Pedestal Table

The Christmas decorations are fabulous! There is a collection of Nutcrackers, along with the ornaments, decoration and “almost” life-size Santas!

While you are discovering the art that’s outside, don’t miss the antique Francois Carre “Sunburst” Steel Art Deco patio set.  Works of art themselves!

Enjoy the photos, but more importantly, enjoy the experience of stepping back in time.

You'll be glad you did.....and we'll be glad to see you!
