All items featured in this catalog come from the famous Lewisfield Plantation and are from the Estate of Rembert C. Dennis and Natalie Brown Dennis. Dennis served almost fifty years (1939–1988) in the General Assembly, forty-six of which were in the state Senate and Natalie Dennis was awarded The Order of the Palmetto which is the state's highest civilian honor awarded to citizens of South Carolina for extraordinary lifetime service and achievements of national or statewide significance.
