Please note that participation in an Auction held at Hudson Valley Auctioneers, whether in person, by phone, via absentee bid or by way of a Live Internet platform such as Live Auctioneers requires the acceptance of our terms of sale, participation therefore constitutes acceptance of all terms listed on this page.

Hudson Valley Auctioneers has endeavored to accurately describe all items being sold, but all property herein offered for sale is strictly "as is", and it is the bidder's responsibility, whether bidding in person, by mail, by e-mail or by telephone to determine the exact condition of each item.

No statement in the catalog, bill of sale, invoice, or elsewhere by a representative of, or person in employ of Hudson Valley Auctioneers shall be deemed to be a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability with respect to age, condition, size, quality, variety, importance, provenance of historical relevance of any of these items.

The auctioneer will be the final judge as to which bidder is the highest bidder. In the event of any dispute in this matter, the auctioneer shall, at his or her discretion decide whether to reopen the bidding.

Title to all merchandise shall pass to the highest bidder and the fall of the auctioneers’ "hammer". The purchaser shall assume full risk and responsibility for the lot purchased once title has passed.

All items purchased on the Live Auctioneers platform must be paid for in 6 days from the date of sale, unless prior arrangements have been made with Hudson Valley Auctioneers a dispute will be filed after that period, claims to unpaid items are void and the gallery will have full title & claim to these items in order to resell them at auction. In the event of a filed dispute the bidder will have 7 days to contact and arrange payment of winning bids before the dispute becomes permanent and the items re-offered.

All lots must be removed at the buyer's expense within 10 business days of the sale, after that period all lots are subject to a storage fee of $10.00 per lot, per day, unless prior arrangements have been made. Hudson Valley Auctioneers reserves the right to dispose of purchased lots if the cost of accumulated storage fees exceeds its sale price.

All bidders are required to register and give full identification prior to the beginning of the auction and are required to use the number issued to them when identifying themselves as the successful bidder.

Auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any property prior to auction.

This is a privately owned & operated sale and we reserve the right to refuse admittance to any person.

No transfer will be recognized from one buyer to another.

All sales are subject to a 25% buyer’s premium.

Payments accepted are VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Check with ID & cash, wire transfers accepted, bank information available upon request.

Bidder does hereby indemnify and hold harmless auctioneer & seller from any and all damages, claims, or liabilities from injuries to persons or property of any type whatsoever, caused before, during, or after the auction.

Hudson Valley Auctioneers hosts a multi estate auction on Monday November 4th featuring the continuation of a Unadilla collector's liquidation, contents from a Sparrow Bush country compound, a Pawling Quaker Hill estate and additional consignments from a local retiring dealer. The auction offers online bidding, absentee and phone bids and in house.

 

Twenty works of art begin the sale, mostly from Unadilla and are followed with forty or so others scattered throughout the evening. Artists include Robert Hamlin, James Harrington, W. Oates, Rudolfi Nieto, Ivan Summers, Frank Barney J. Insco Williams, F.G. Fuentes and others as well as several early American school and continental portraits.         

   Chinese and Asian artifacts include several Chinese porcelain vases, some older and Mid Century Japanese woodblocks, a carved Jade vase and several Chinese and Persian carpets including a palace size carpet from an old Engelwood NJ estate. Mid Century items feature examples by Milo Baughman, Adrian Pearsall, Bruno Mathsson, Frank Elisco, Robsjohn Gibbings, Jean Gillon and several other pieces by unknown designers and makers. 

 

 Traditional and antique furniture including an Ogden Codman partial bedroom set and especially many pieces of American Empire will be scattered throughout the evening along several clocks including LeCoultre, a fine Hersechede Hall tall clock with chimes, a Junghans Westminster bracket clock and others. Fifteen lots estate jewelry from a Mainline Philidelphia family offers mostly gold rings and pins with various stones and several hundred ounces of sterling including several flatware sets and lots of hollowware including Tiffany and Gorham. A nice collection of art pottery and art glass and arts and Crafts items should be well received with makers such as Steuben, Lundberg Studios, Middle Period Roseville including some rarities, Weller, Jervis, Liberty, two Handel lamps and some Austrian items.
