Cowden 5 Gallon Decorated Crock; Mid 19th Century; 14.5” height, 5 gallon stoneware crock, Has applied handles, beautiful cobalt blue stenciled artwork in mid body of geometrics and rays, handles also have cobalt blue applications, impressed at upper shoulder F.H. Cowden Harrisburg 5, overall condition is excellent and original, no hairlines, chips or repairs. Provenance; Chulada Collection Chapel Hill NC

Lot 2.             Cowden & Wilcox 1 Gallon Decorated Jug; Mid 19th Century; 11” height, 1 handled stoneware jug, decorated with cobalt blue flower and stem, impressed at upper shoulder Cowden & Wilcox Harrisburg, has cobalt blue application where handle meets jug, Overall condition is outstanding and original, has very minor hairline in center of handle. Otherwise is in excellent condition. Provenance; Chulada Collection Chapel Hill NC

Lot 3.             Northern Virginia 2 Gallon Decorated Crock; Mid 19th Century; 11” height, This example has beautiful cobalt blue horizontal stem flowers and petals surrounding upper body, Has impressed 2 at upper shoulder, applied handles, overall condition is outstanding and original with very minor bottom rim chips. Otherwise is excellent. Provenance; Chulada Collection Chapel Hill NC

Lot 4.             Virginia Blue Decorated Pottery Crock; Mid 19th Century; 15” height, 2 handled 4 gallon crock. Has beautiful split stem and floral decoration on front and backside, applied handles, circular stamp below handle 4. Overall condition is outstanding and original with very minor spider web line from bottom to mid body. Otherwise excellent. Decoration is similar to H. Lowndes, Provenance; Chulada Collection Chapel Hill NC

Lot 5.             Virginia Decorated Pottery Storage Jar; Mid 19th Century; 8.5” height, has 6 upper shoulder cobalt blue thumb leaf decoration. Unmarked, beautiful decoration has very minor shallow nick at rim, otherwise in excellent condition. Provenance; Chulada Collection Chapel Hill NC

Lot 6.             F.H. Cowden Decorated 3 Gallon Stoneware Crock; Mid 19th Century; 11.75” height, has beautiful geometric cobalt blue stencil at mid body, two applied handles, stamped at upper shoulder F.H. Cowden Harrisburg 3, condition- has divot above decoration, minor shallow chip at upper rim, minor glaze loss but otherwise is excellent. Provenance; Chulada Collection Chapel Hill NC

Lot 7.             Early American Blue Decorated Stoneware Crock; Mid 19th Century; 9.5” height, has beautiful cobalt blue feathers, and stemmed flowers surrounding upper body. Two applied handles, circular impressed stamp 1 for gallon capacity. Overall condition is outstanding with only minor shallow chips at upper rim, otherwise excellent.
