Newport Beach Estate Sale Bayfront Newport on Promontory Bay Bayside Drive Prominent Newport Beach author's estate....on the bay in Newport Beach. Our client wrote many books on Plein Air paintings that are now classic reference...Also had excellent taste! This traditional home is beautifully furnished with everything you might expect and imagine from an educated, cultured family. Books everywhere....reference books, sets of books, individual books, art books, coffee table books, books for everyone. This home is filled with art. Our client was personal friends with many artists including Tom Enman, a local Laguna Beach plein air artist...many of Enman's paintings adorn the walls of this lovely bayfront home. Several other paintings by Vralati are sure to please even the most discerning eye. There are other artists as well, a cafe scene original oil by Sally Storch, watercolors by Arthur Millier, also lithographs, some by important avant garde French artist Marie Laurencin...There are also Salvador Dali signed lithographs, etchings by Eugene Loving, lithographs by Andrew Rush too...the pièce de resistance is most certainly the Alphonse Mucha poster "Sarah Bernhardt," 1904. Our client entertained...and it shows...many sets of china, Spode, Spode Christmas dishes, Spode "Tradewinds," Limoges, Fiesta, Pottery Barn, William Sonoma, and Noritake as well as other makers. A Rosina "Old St. Nicholas" dessert set is sure to please this holiday season...A nice cup and saucer collection...a Japanese tea set, Chinese side dishes and chargers, vintage linens...Many sets of stemware, serving pieces, silver and some sterling too. The dining room, buffet and kitchen are filled with everything you would need for the holiday, any holiday for that matter...an entertainers dream come true! Other special pieces include a vast collection of art books, reference books, coffee table books, leather bound books, and vintage and antique books. To complement the books, a nice array of bookends, including armor bronze, cast Egyptian revival bookends, cast metal large dog bookends, carved wood bookends, and more. There are two large tapestries, rugs, runners, a large, carved, gold gilt mirror, a tile planter, paneled Asian screens, Fu dogs, globes, maps. There are some other unique items including an Art Deco vanity light, a pine needle sewing basket, an Acoma pot, a Hotchkiss stapler, a White notary sewing machine, a James Michener signed book, Jewelry includes costume, silver and better jewelry...there is also assorted silver and sterling. There are select pieces of art pottery (Van Briggle, Roseville, Rookwood, Weller, Rose Cabat, bronzes (including a horse figurines, a beautiful terracotta nude female figure by Ruth Peabody, noted Laguna Beach artist. There are also some Chinese, Japanese, Italian, and French ceramics as well... Lamps and lighting (including a tea canister lamp and a "Le Verre Français Art Nouveau cameo glass lamp..pairs of bedroom lamps, floor lamps, a stained glass dragonfly table lamp. We have furniture of every style and size...antique furniture including a gorgeous Jugendstil chest/buffet, side tables, lamp tables, a butler's table, coffee tables, two dining tables/chair sets, upholstered furniture, including love seats, sofas, buffets, armchairs, camelback sofa, wingback chairs, a few mid century pieces too...In the office there is a drafting table, model ships, a Bushnell telescope, a desk a midcentury credenza, bookcases, an Italian book motif 7 drawer chest, a lawyer's bookcase, a painted secretary, a carved bookcase cabinet with a leaded glass front. As you gaze out on the beautiful bay and yachts, remember we are also selling an outdoor dining table/chairs and two chaises...on the dock below. There is truly something for every budget and taste. The garage is full too...we have for sale a Whirlpool washer and dryer, Craftsman chain saw, and circular saw, a Craftsman scroller, a Newport Vessels 461 b thrust electric boat motor, tools, garden supplies, shelving units, and another dining table and chairs.
