HUMBLE DESIGN’S WHITE ELEPHANT SALE

 

Humble Design Chicago is a nonprofit serving families and veterans rising above homelessness through transforming an empty house into a dignified and welcoming home. It’s a simple idea that changes a family's future.

 

Humble Design uses donated furniture and decor that is carefully curated by their team of volunteer designers to create elegant, comfortable and personalized spaces for families to live and grow in.

 

But sometimes, people donate items that Humble Design cannot use, so Sophia’s Room is selling these items to get Humble Design some funds and clean out the warehouse! All proceeds will benefit Humble Design, including Sophia’s normal commission. EVERYTHING will benefit Humble Design Chicago.

We don’t know what we will be selling yet, but we do know what Humble Design needs! If have suitable donations, please bring them to the sale to help out Humble Design.

  • Crock pots
  • Blenders
  • Microwaves
  • Toaster ovens
  • Pots and pans
  • Baking sheets
  • Tall kitchen garbage cans
  • Kitchen utensils
  • Coffee makers—no K cups or Nespresso
  • Sets of everyday dishes, min 4 place settings
  • Sets of glasses (no wine glasses), min set of 4
  • silverware—min set of 4
  • Placemats, cloth napkins and napkin rings, min set of 4
  • Cookbooks with easy, budget friendly recipes
  • Mattresses and boxsprings—queen, double or twins, esp twins, clean and gently used
  • headboards—queen, double or twin
  • Sheets and blankets and pillows—queen, double or twin
  • Sets of towels
  • Home decor—shelving, attractive knick knacks
  • Wall art
  • Area rugs
  • Kid’s stuff—gently used toys, books, costumes for dress up
  • Throw pillows
  • A sewing machine (just like a regular Singer to custom make cute items for the families)
  • lamps—floor, table and desk lamps
  • Holiday decor—esp Halloween and Christmas
  • Arts and crafts supplies—sometimes for families but also to make personalized items for families
  • Sofas, but not too big—under 85”
  • Comfy chairs
