Day 2 of our 2 Day Farmington Hills Antique Online Estate Auction Extravaganza

Amazing 19th Century Woodwork and personal collectibles with impeccable provenance.

Civil War Era Fife (Flute)  Likely played by our consignors Grandfather during the civil war where he served for 4 years in the Union Army.  Impeccable Provenance with each item in this event.  All items from the John and Elizabeth Slattery Covington Indiana Home will include a full letter of provenance signed by an immediate descendant of John and Elizabeth Slattery family member.  

The Name John Slattery is not foreign to most people reading this.  In order for there to be a current John Slattery, in this family, there had to be a historical reference.  John had a son John who had a son John who had a son John who had a son named John Slattery who many of you likely know.

John and Elizabeth Slattery Immigrated as children to the United States in 1855 from County Menthe Ireland and joined family in Crawfordsville Indiana.  John enlisted in the Union Army in 1862 and served until the war ended in 1865 seeing heavy action. He married Elizabeth in 1867 and they were married for over 60 years. and resided in Covington Indiana their entire married lives.  These items  noted "Covington Home" were obtained directly from the family home in Covington, by their grand daughter and brought to Michigan where she resided her entire adult life and were maintained by her until her recent passing.   

We hope the ultimate winners of these auction items enjoy and maintain them with the love and spirit of family history that this family did over the past 150 years.  If anyone would like to view the items prior to the completion of the auction, please contact me directly during the week.  We will do our best to make time available to show them to you.
