Corporal Brad Mullins of the Winston-Salem Police Department partnered with Deputy Jeremiah Handy of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office last year (2019) for the inaugural Battle of the Badges Charity Softball Game. In the first year, they were able to raise over 1,000 lbs of food items (enough for 1190 meals) and approximately $2,000.00 which Crisis Control Ministry was able to use to help those in need. This year, the WSPD Peacekeepers and FCSO Enforcers are honored to add the WSFD Overhaulers and the GPD Sheepdogs to the tournament. These four teams will be participating in the Second Annual Battle of the Badges Charity Softball Tournament on October 31, 2020 at David F. Couch Ballpark (401 Deacon Boulevard). Nolan Arenado is a third baseman and was drafted by the Rockies in 2013 and has spent all of his time in the Majors with the Rockies. Max Scherzer is a starting pitcher for the Washington Nationals. In his 13 year professional career he boasts an ERA of 3.21, with 2,784 strike outs. He is a 7x All-Star, 3x Cy Young winner, and a 2019 World Series Champion. 12 Baseball autographed by Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants Baseball autographed by Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants with COA from the MLB Players Association. Buster Posey was a catcher for the San Francisco Giants going on the restricted list in 2020 due to Covid. He is a 3x World Series Champion, National League MVP, Rookie of the Year, 6x All-Star, 4x Silver Slugger, Gold Glove, and was a Batting Title Champion in 2012 with a .312 batting average. During his career he boasts a .302 batting average with 673 RBI’s, and 140 homeruns. 13 Baseball autographed by Brian Goodwin Cincinnati Reds Brian Goodwin is an outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds.
