Auction is on the South side of US 12 - look for signs (Firearms are with the family and will not be onsite until inspection day)

Rare WWI Naval embroidered silk "Remembrance of my Cruise Around
the World" w/photo of US Navy Diver and printed map showing his route.
23x29"h. in walnut frame. Condition: Excellent, minor rubs to the frame
corners. Note: Information from a note inscribed on the back of the
picture identifies the USN Diver as Chief Gunners Mate Stephen J.
Drellishak. This diver had set a depth record of 274 feet off Long Island
Sound on Nov. 3rd 1914 while on the USS Walke. In March of 1915, Chief
Gunner Drellishak was part of a 4 man Dive team under USN Gunner
George D. Stillson who successfully salvaged the US Navies 1st Submarine
accident off the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The Navy lost 21 of the Submarine
crew from Acid eaten rivets that flooded the vessel quickly.

mounted with Plexiglas) Condition: Excellent with original light mailing
folds. IMPORTANT HISTORY: Purchased in Nov. 1995 from the Henry
Ford Museum collection through an exclusive Mail in Bid event with
copies of documents including catalog listing.
