Friday April 10 and Saturday April 11 from 10am to 6pm and Sunday April 12 from noon to 4pm. At the Gilmore Art Center, 2119 Curtis St., Downtown Denver, next door to Mile High Framing. Ample parking. All offerings subject to prior sale. Featured in the sale are: A large collection of vintage paintings and original prints by Colorado and American artists including Charles Partridge Adams, Robert Wesley Amick, William Bancroft, Watson Bidwell, Charles Bunnell, Lyman Byxbe, Mary Chenoweth, Roland Detre, Eve Drewelowe, Robert A. Graham, Elsie Haynes, William Knapp, Gene Kloss, Paul Kontny, Max Lazarus, Maud Leach, Raphael Lillywhite, Janet Lippincott, Hayes Lyon, Ethel Magafan, Ernestine Parsons, Alyda Powell, Boardman Robinson, Mary Cane Robinson, Arnold Ronnebeck, Louise Ronnebeck, Annie Lee Ross, Paul K. Smith, Elisabeth Spalding, David Spivak, Vladan Stiha, William Traher, Virginia True, Tabor Utley, Frank Vavra, Morgan Wagner, and many more. Art by listed Choctaw artist Asa Battles (1923--2005) of Denver. Known especially for his scratchboard and tempera paintings. Battles executed commissions for the National Parks Service, Denver Public Library, University of Wisconsin, and Pratt College. He won the gold medal at the Bicentennial Century of Western Art Exhibition. Modernist color prints by master Colorado modernist printmaker Jerry Opper (b. 1924). Born in Cleveland, Opper studied at the Chouinard Art Institute and was at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center in the 1940s. He won awards at the Cincinnati International Color Lithography exhibition, the Pennell Print Show at the Library of Congress, Brooklyn Museum Print Show and the American Federation of Arts. The works of this master printmaker are returning to Colorado for the first time in many years. A large selection of oil paintings by contemporary Colorado and New Mexico artists. Hundreds of original 18th and 19th century prints in all subjects plus hundreds of unframed drawings, prints, watercolors by listed artists, from $2/each. A great selection of large abstract paintings.
