HISTORICAL ESTATE SALE
An important sale of the furnishings and art of Anna Caulfield McKnight (1866-1947) stored for 68 years.  She was historically significant in Grand Rapids and built our cultural foundation in the 1920’s.  In the early 19th century her extensive travel in America, Europe, and the Orient gave her experience to a lecture series.  It was her privilege to study in the art studios, galleries, and libraries of London, Paris, Florence, and Rome.  As three term president of Grand Rapids Ladies Literary Club, she invited Presidents Wilson, Roosevelt, and Taft to speak at the Club.  She was also president of Drama League and Civic Art Committee.

FURNITURE
Original furniture from her Heritage Hill home includes:  master carved oversize Chippendale arm chair, two oak stacking barrister bookcases, Victorian Renaissance Revival dining table and six chairs, two mahogany display cabinets, mahogany carved writing desk, mahogany bookcase, rare ornate brass and marble étagère, fine carved mahogany corner chair, gilted garland wall mirror, mahogany Windsor chair, pair of mahogany four poster twin beds, dressers, writing desk, Mission oak desk/chest/stands.
