Jack Savage, with his partner, Mike La Mendola, founded La Mendola in the 1960’s. La Mendola, one of Rome’s most chic boutiques of its time, was located at the top of the Spanish Steps in the beautiful Piazza Trinita dei Monti in a 17th century palace. Jack & Mike designed their own fabrics & were once world renowned for the silk jersey & heavy chiffon georgette. Their clients include Elizabeth Taylor, Countess Calvi di Bergolo, Natalie Wood, Ursala Andress, Muriel Spark, Loretta Young & many other notable figures. You will have the opportunity to bid on carefully curated items from Jack Savage’s personal La Mendola collection, La Mendola ephemera & other couture names, such as Saint Laurent, Italian artwork, fine jewelry & more! Also, available are mementos from his early life in Herminie, Pennsylvania.
