Listing Information

Tuesday August 11th 9-4 marks our sale for the ‘sisters’ at 5094 46th Street Sacramento 95820.
We’ll open at 9am sharp with fair pricing until 12noon
Our prices will move to half from 12-3pm
Boxlot pricing will be from 3pm-4pm
We’ll have free and donation going from the driveway from 4pm till around 5pm
Bring boxes if you have them as this house is just packed with sewing, crafts and collectibles.

Margy and Millie were two sisters of a family of 7 children, all born in California. They lived

together in Margy’s house on 46th Street since the mid 1980’s. They were known to everyone as

the “M & M Sisters”. They visited Neptune’s Table in South Land Park regularly on Tuesday

and Friday evenings for dinner and cocktails until it closed. They then established their regular

seats at the bar at Brownie’s Lounge across the parking lot from Neptune’s. They were both

excellent seamstresses and made everything from Humpty Dumpty dolls to elves to fancy vests to

potholders for their friends – and would never accept money for their efforts – but you might buy

them a drink.

They also delivered bags of homemade dolls to local police and fire stations and hospitals to give

out to children in distress.

They were always young at heart and loads of fun. Millie’s granddaughter tells of being taught to

burp appropriately loudly at the dinner table, much to her mother’s horror.

Margy passed away peacefully on July 18 and Millie went to live at a nice senior residential

home so their home and all of their treasures are available, including mountains of sewing items –

patterns, some of which are no longer available, lots of fabric, and several sewing machines.

(They always had to have a backup machine or two.)

This bio was shared by dear friend of the sisters; Melva.
