Many of the works in this auction were created by former Toledoan and artist, Gaylord Kimble. He was known for his outstanding works of scratch board and watercolor. He was awarded for his pieces on both a local and national level. He graduated from the Landon School of Cartooning, Federal Art School, and the former Meinzinger Art School of Detroit.  For many years he was an artist for the Toledo Times until his retirement when the newspaper ceased publication.
