Thursday September 13th from 9-6 In 1977 Dick and Dottie Evers bought this house and moved from Valley Hi in Sacramento with two teen age sons. Dick and Dottie were childhood sweethearts and met in church in 1944 at the tender ages of 13 and 11. Theirs was a love at first sight and they were married in June of 1954. Dick is a retired pastor. He is the founding pastor of Winding Way Community Church (now Christ Community Church of Carmichael), and the founding and long time pastor of Sacramento Community Drive-In Church. The Drive In Church was a special ministries church located along freeway 99 between Sheldon and Calvine Roads. Dottie is a retired elementary school teacher. She taught for 39 years, 16 of which were at the Anna Kirchegater School of the Elk Grove Unified School District. Dick and Dottie moved to Citrus Hts recently to be nearer to Christ Community Church where Dick is Pastor Emeritus. Under Dick and Dotties care the Wilton property housed a “Prayer Path†which meandered along a path in the back yard. This was a special place, open to anyone, that wished to enjoy the peace and quite of the country while contemplating God’s love for them. The Evers family welcomes you to our Estate Sale hosted by Jennie Krausse and we wish you the best in your life. On a side-note, the couple’s son Dan explained that the premise of the first drive in church was for those followers who wanted to pray and worship but were too shy to come into a church and preferred to stay privately in their car…how wonderful is that! |
