Happy 2016 !!! Well, if we wanted to start the new year off with a bang, we sure
picked the right sale to do it with ! Like cook books ? We got 'em, several thousand !
Like jewelry ? We got it ! Like old military and gun-related items ? Yep, got that,
too. New clothes ? Beautiful art glass ? Framed art ? Tools ? A kit car ?
Fun Yard stuff ? We've got it all ! And more ! It's well worth the jaunt, people !
Friday and Saturday, January 8-9, 9:00a.m.-2:00p.m., both days.
The sale will be at 8830 Plantation Drive, in West Columbia. Also known as County
Rd. 810. Travel West from West Columbia, on FM 1301. After the light at Hwy 36,
you'll come about a mile, and 1301 takes a turn to the right. County Rd. 810 is
about 2-2 1/2 miles, and will be on your right. Go to the four- way stop sign,
then keep going straight. 8830,(it's faded from the mailbox, so I'm going to try to
darken the numbers), will be on your left. Brick house, white columns,
detatched shop, and our signs.
Don't start the year out, rolling your eyes, saying,"But, West Columbia is so
faaaaar."It's only about a 25 minute drive from my house, south of Angleton,
good road all the way, fun places to stop and shop in along the way, good
eating places, so get yourselves in that car or truck, and come see us !!!
The sign-up sheet will be out Thursday evening. We'll start calling the first
names from the list around 8:45, on Friday morning.
Because of the crowded house, and lots of breakables, there will be NO children
allowed in the sale areas.
No large purses, no "shopping" bags, no back packs, etc. I'd also like to offer a
discount to our shoppers-if you see anyone stealing an item, tucking something into
a pocket, or similar, and you let us know, and it turns out to be correct, we'll issue
you an immediate 25% discount on your purchases for the day ! (There are some
items in the sale that will have no discounts at all, like large art glass pieces,
the car, etc. Let's see if being observed by fellow shoppers will help thwart
those sticky fingers.
I'd like to take a minute,(or more, depending on how fast you read...), to address
the new open carry law. Don't go all weird on me, just listen to my thoughts. I'm
married to retired law enforcement, and I'm very comfy around firearms. I have
no objections to open carry, but that being said, I'd really rather not see a bunch
of guns on hips at our sales. My reasoning ? You're gonna be in a large crowd
of hustling, bustling shoppers, I'd hate to see anything unplanned happen. If I
were really uncomfortable with the new law, you betcha, I'd have a sign posted
on the door, prohibiting open carry in our sales, so let's see how it goes for a
while. Any questions or issues, please find me, and lets talk about it.
I'm good with that.
