2002 Pro Modified Firebird Built by Jerry Bickel Race Cars

This high school electric drag car is "Shock and Awe," a project developed by students at Bothell High School in Bothell, Washington with students around the district...

On September 16, 2016, The car ran a quarter mile in 8.328 seconds and reached a top speed of 166.29 miles per hour — the fastest time ever officially recorded in the Extreme Street division. By top speed, Shock and Awe ranks as the fourth-fastest electric drag car in history. The car set a world record on Sept. 16 in Woodburn, Ore.

BHS Students and the teacher put more than 900 hours into building the electric car and its drivetrain, which consists of two AMRacing A/C motors paired with two Rinehart PM250 controllers that send a maximum of 900 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of instantaneous torque to the rear wheels. The chassis is a 2003 Jerry Bickel Pro Stock-style car topped by the fiberglass body of a Pontiac Firebird. A 2-speed BTE Powerglide transmission and 800-volt power pack round out the drivetrain, with the total price tag coming in at over $100,000 — similar to what a conventional piston-powered car might cost.

Also included is a 2016 EZ Hauler 8.5x28 Enclosed Trailer. Spec sheets for both car and trailer are attached to the auction page.

All items are sold AS IS, WHERE IS, and GovDeals encourages bidders to physically inspect before placing a bid whenever possible. Please see Seller’s details under “Inspection” on the Auction Page.
