ITEMS of NOTE:  One of the greatest collections of local sporting memorabilia in recent times from local Altoona teams to Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and autographed items...including game used and promotional baseball bats signed by the players who used them, balls, cards, bobbleheads, pennants, and other items with autographs/signatures! Silver US coins and other currency in binders and books.  Pyrex including Gooseberry, Amish Butterprint and more, Tonka toys including the rare road grater with a couple of others, smoking collectibles and much more. It should be noted that this collection was compiled by a pillar in the community while traveling with his beloved wife. He dedicated decades of his career to the sporting industry and was honered by the Blair County Hall of Fame.  Here is a snippet of his accomplishments. Since its inception in 1987, the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame has adopted the mission of honoring its native athletes, coaches and community pillars who have made large contributions on both a national and regional level. The Blair Hall has initiated a Lifetime Achievement Award to him, who has covered high school, college and
professional sports for the Altoona Mirror for the past 50 years, will be the first recipient. Lane is being honored for 50 years of promoting interest and fostering the growth of sports in the region.!
