Bid online now through Thursday, August 21st at alderferauction.com. This auction will begin closing at 8 PM at a rate of 5 lots per minute. Active bidding will be auto-extended 3 minutes for each lot once it begins to close.

A large portion of the catalog highlights works by Breininger Pottery, with entries such as decorated charger, bowls, plates, figurines and lidded vessels. These are complemented by numerous redware pottery seasonal pieces, as well as mixed entries like the redware lamp base and a Washington Crossing redware pitcher.

Stoneware pieces are also well represented, including items from Rowe Pottery Works, Wisconsin Pottery, Stahl Pottery, Roseville, Hart & Son, Adolph Moesch, Cowden, Crocker & Springer and the Ottman Brothers. Smaller decorative and household items include a miniature hutch with miniature redware pottery, wooden spoon rack, candles holder, planters, tabletop decorated chests and candle boxes.

Handcrafted wooden items form another key component of the auction. Featured entries include carved wooden Santa figures, toys, a primitive Lady Liberty, folk art figures, and tramp art boxes.

Miniature and decorative furnishings include folk art miniature room dioramas and fan back miniature chairs.

The catalog also includes traditional textile and needlework items, including a framed needlework sampler. Hand-decorated holiday or seasonal entries appear with hand decorated eggs and redware decorative eggs, blending folk art techniques with seasonal motifs.

Pewter makes a brief appearance with assorted pewter tableware, tying in with the broader early American domestic theme that defines much of the auction.

Altogether, the auction is centered on American folk and decorative arts, particularly redware and stoneware pottery, wood carving, and miniature craftsmanship. The pieces reflect traditional American forms and materials, with a focus on artisan production and heritage themes.
