Bid online now through Thursday, February 12th at alderferauction.com. This auction will begin closing at 8 PM at a rate of 5 lots per minute. Active bidding will be auto-extended 3 minutes for each lot once it begins to close.

One of the main highlights of this sale is the collection that came to Alderfer Auction directly from the Estate of Stephen Gibbs of Philadelphia, a descendent of the historic Gibbs Manufacturing Company. Gibbs Manufacturing Corporation started out making plows and farm implements and then moved on to creating beloved playthings and household necessities. This sale allows collectors to purchase a part of their story of adaptation and invention with a multitude of objects from toys to salesman sample plow heads.

Additional catalog items include Chinese-style porcelain vases, figural groups, dishes, and sculptural forms in celadon, polychrome, and monochrome glazes. These are complemented by European ceramics such as Limoges, Dresden, Royal Doulton, and assorted figural inkwells that reflect both craftsmanship and decorative appeal.

Sculptural and object-based décor plays a strong role throughout the auction. Highlights include a bronze Buddha head sculpture, Murano glass forms, cast iron and glass lighting elements, reverse-painted snuff bottles, paperweights, perfume bottles, and carved or inlaid wooden boxes. Together, these lots offer a range of textures and materials suitable for collectors, decorators, and those seeking distinctive shelf or tabletop accents.

Larger decorative accents add scale and presence, including a tabletop secretary cabinet with contrasting black accents and select wooden storage and display pieces. Seasonal and nostalgic décor is represented through vintage Christmas ornaments, Swedish wood and fabric Santa figures, and related holiday decorations that appeal to both collectors and interior stylists.

The auction also incorporates an interesting crossover of Americana and collectibles that blend naturally into home display settings. Additional display-ready collectibles include signed baseballs, framed autographed celebrity photographs, Super Bowl programs, and curated assortments of vintage ephemera that function as decorative conversation pieces as much as collectibles.

Smaller groupings such as inkwell assortments, tea caddies, desk accessories, offering accessible opportunities for layering within interiors and adding to collections. Throughout the auction, the emphasis remains on objects with visual impact, craftsmanship, and display value rather than single-category collecting.

Overall, this Home & Décor auction presents a well-rounded selection of decorative arts suited to traditional interiors, eclectic collections, and curated modern spaces alike. The variety of materials, cultural influences, and object types creates opportunities for both focused collectors and buyers looking to enhance their living spaces with distinctive, character-driven pieces.
