The wood had split just above the trigger. I believe it was glued and then some tape put around it. The finish is getting worn. It is a nice gun that just needs a little love. Please see photos for more details. 3 259C - Remington Wingmaster 870 Shotgun 16GA This shotgun had a scope mounted on it. We took it off so we could find the model number. This gun shows normal wear for its age. It appears that it may have been repaired on the wood part just above the trigger. It is still sturdy.
