This auction will begin closing at 7 PM at a rate of 3 lots per minute. Active bidding will be auto-extended 3 minutes for each lot once it begins to close. The catalog includes antique pewter including American, British, Scottish and Irish workmanship. Artists includes Danforth, Boardman, Austen & Sons, Townsend & Compton, Samuel Ellis, Israel Trask, Roswell Gleason, Blakslee Barns, H. Yale & Co., George Bacon, Robert Palethorp, Freeman Porter and more. Modern pewter pieces by Chilmark are represented, all crafted by noted Chilmark pewter artists. Themes of the pewter sculptures and figures includes Native American, Civil War and American Western history. Many pieces are signed by the artists and include limited edition selections. Pottery by noted German Pennsylvanian potter, James C. Seagraves (1913-1997) are included in the catalog. They feature his redware plates, platters and figurals.
