"Tricks by Hicks" is the legendary nickname for the specialized dirt bike engine and clutch work pioneered by the late Bill Hicks from Dewitt, Michigan.

 Known for making small-bore dirt bikes (like 50cc machines) "rip," he built a dedicated following of racers who traveled across the state for his expert tuning and modification advice

Located in the Michigan motocross community, Bill Hicks developed a reputation as one of the best in the business for rebuilding crankshafts, modifying clutches, and squeezing peak performance out of small-displacement engines.

Local riders frequently made long trips to his shop to get his specialized tuning advice, which helped keep young riders competitive in heavily contested amateur classes.

 

American Eagle Auction & Appraisal Company is pleased to present a unique live public auction featuring approximately 40 motorcycles, youth racing bikes, mini motocross bikes, mopeds, pit bikes,  ATVs, and a full shop of Bill Hicks tools, parts, accessories, shelving, tool boxes, and everything that he used to master his craft. 

 

This collection includes legitimate European-built youth racing motorcycles, not the inexpensive Chinese pull-start pocket bikes commonly sold today. Featured makes include LEM, KTM, Beta, Conti, Cobra, Polaris, Suzuki and Kinetic.

 

Highlights include 50cc two-stroke competition bikes, mini motard and motocross machines, expansion-chamber exhaust systems, automatic centrifugal clutches, disc brakes, racing suspension, vintage mopeds, project bikes and restoration opportunities.
