Estate of Tamas “Tom” Tanto

A larger-than-life figure in the golf industry, Tom Tanto was a major contributor for over 50 years as a contractor and owner and partner in several successful businesses. Locally he was the creator and first president of Totteridge Golf Course and Residential Community. Tom emigrated from Hungary in 1957 and earned an engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was at the forefront of golf course irrigation development, shaping the industry with his expertise, innovation, and work ethic. Nationally and internationally he is remembered for his gregarious personality and love of America by all who were fortunate to know him.
