Fine Art & Prints

Leading the sale is a strong group of American paintings, including Impressionist landscapes from the Brown County, Indiana art colony tradition, with an oil by Louis Oscar Griffith and a painting attributed to John William Vawter, as well as a signed Alfred R. Mitchell oil. Printmaking and pop art add variety, from a limited edition Norman Rockwell lithograph of John F. Kennedy and a Salvador Dalí lithograph to a pair of 1973 Peter Max pieces. Framed watercolors, regional landscapes, and decorative engravings round out the section.

Asian Antiques & Art

Asian art is one of the deepest groups in the sale, led by Chinese porcelain, cloisonné, and carved figures, including famille rose vases, a carved coral Guanyin, and a tall late Qing dynasty bodhisattva. Japanese Satsuma and Imari wares, a Meiji period okimono, and ukiyoe woodblock prints sit beside Korean celadon, a Tibetan brocade hanging, and a Thai bronze guardian figure.

Studio & Antique Art Glass

Collectors of American studio glass will find a deep run of iridescent vases by Charles Lotton, including early signed and dated examples, alongside work by Josh Simpson, Mark Peiser, Orient & Flume, and Lundberg Studios. The antique side is just as inviting, with Loetz, Moser, and Bohemian glass, cranberry glass pickle castors, cobalt pieces, and Fenton carnival glass.

Vintage Jazz Photography

A standout offering of original vintage gelatin silver photographs captures the stars of mid twentieth century jazz, including Count Basie, Gene Krupa, and Lester Young. The photographers behind the lens include Francis Wolff of Blue Note Records, Hugh Bell, Steve Schapiro, and Jerry Dantzic, with several bearing studio stamps or signatures on the reverse.

Americana, Folk Art & Primitives

The farmhouse and the lodge hall are well represented, with antique advertising pieces, a Knights of Pythias banner, a Singer treadle sewing machine, a horse lightning rod vane, and primitive wooden ware. Earlier treasures include a pair of early 19th century schoolgirl needlework samplers and an antique Swedish wedding box, as well as 1918 Plains Indian ledger art and a beaded chanupa pipe bag.

Tribal & Global Art

Oceanic, Southeast Asian, and ancient Mexican pieces bring a sense of discovery to the sale. Highlights include a Lumi war shield from Papua New Guinea, a Vanuatu fern figure made for ceremonial use, a Dayak beaded baby carrier from Borneo, and a pottery shaman figure from ancient West Mexico.

And More

Sculpture lovers can look forward to a flock of sculpted birds in glass, crystal, and leather, including a Murano crystal owl and an Oiva Toikka glass tern, as well as mermaids and a quirky dentist themed collection. Additional offerings include American Gold and Silver Eagle coins, Peace silver dollars, Peruvian llama brooches, a Mont Blanc pen, and a limited edition Versace watch.
